We are all too familiar with the outside, environmental toxins that are floating around us. Sometimes just looking across a valley we see all of the smog that seems to hover over our lives. All too frequently though, we forget to think about the toxins that are inside of us. It is imperative that our bodies rid themselves of toxins in order to remain healthy. When dangerous, internal toxins build up inside of us we usually begin to get sick and often times those toxins can cause disease.
When toxins are in the digestive system, they enter our bloodstream, and if these toxins are present in excess of the liver’s ability to detoxify them, they can damage cells all throughout the body. Digestive toxins are produced in a couple of different ways, mostly by an abnormal growth of bacteria or yeast in the intestines and by food that has been digested improperly. There is good bacteria and bad bacteria in each one of us. When bad bacteria and yeasts run rampant, they squeeze out the good bacteria necessary for production of nutrients such as vitamin K and the vitamin B’s.
